SUMMARY:Vieslekcija "Lipid-mediated signalling mechanisms in plant innate immunity"
DESCRIPTION:\nInvited lecture: Lipid-mediated signalling mechanisms in plant innate immunityDr. Elia StahlEuropean Institute of Chemistry and Biology (IECB) and Laboratory of Membrane Biogenesis (LBM)CNRS - University of Bordeaux\, FranceOur recently established research group focusses on the identification of novel microbe derived lipidic elicitors of plant immune signalling and their perception mechanism in Arabidopsis. To achieve this\, we combine analytical chemistry (chromatography\, lipidomics\, MS\, NMR)\, classical molecular biology and biochemistry methods. I will focus on a novel immunogenic pattern present in a lipid extract of the plant pathogenic fungus Botrytis cinerea. In the second line of research\, we investigate how plant endogenous lipid homeostasis in the plasma membrane affects and contributes to plant immunity. We thereby focus on the role of plant specific sphingolipids\, in particular on glycosylinositol phosphorylceramides (GIPCs)\, and will show how GIPC homeostasis affects plant immunity on multiple levels.\n\n\n
